LFT, Long Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (LFT),  is a type of thermoplastic material that, compared to ordinary fiber-reinforced thermoplastic materials, typically has a fiber length of less than 1 millimeter. In contrast, in LFT, the fiber length is generally longer than 2 millimeters. The processing technology can already maintain the fiber length in LFT at 5 millimeters or more.

The most commonly used matrix resin is PP, followed by PA, while PBT,  SAN and other resins are also used. LFT is widely used in automobiles, with the main advantage being the flexibility of material blending.

Long fiber reinforced thermoplastic materials (LFT) have been used in the automotive industry for semi-structured applications. Their main advantages are attractive cost/performance ratio and relatively low density.

In the automotive industry, LFT is mainly used to make structural and semi-structured components such as front-end modules, bumper beams, dashboard frames, battery racks, spare tire compartments, seat frames, footrests, and overall floorboards.
