Mechanical Properties
High Stiffness & Strength
Tensile Strength: 60-70 MPa (unfilled), 80-110 MPa (glass/carbon-filled).
Flexural Modulus: 2.5-3 GPa (unfilled), up to 9 GPa (GF25).
Excellent Wear & Abrasion Resistance
Low coefficient of friction → ideal for gears, bearings, sliders.
Superior to nylon in dry running conditions.
Good Impact Resistance (Unfilled Grades)
Notched Izod Impact: 50-100 J/m (higher than many engineering plastics).
Thermal Properties
Operating Temperature: -40°C to 90°C (short-term up to 140°C).
Melting Point: 165-175°C (avoid prolonged high-temp exposure).
Chemical Resistance
Resists hydrocarbons, alcohols, weak acids/alkalis.
Avoid strong acids
Electrical Properties
Good dielectric strength (~20 kV/mm) → used in electrical insulators.
Dimensional Stability
Low moisture absorption (<0.3%) → minimal swelling.
