PC plastic, English name of Polycarbonate, referred to as PC, is an amorphous thermoplastic. It is a general term for a class of polymer compounds containing carbonate structure in the molecular chain and various materials prepared on the basis of it. According to the different ester groups in the molecular structure, it can be divided into aliphatic group, alicyclic group, aromatic group and aliphatic aromatic group. And bisphenol A type polycarbonate is the most important, the molecular weight is usually 30-100,000.
Why need to modify the virgin polycarbonate?
The purpose of modified PC is to toughened, improve molding processing performance, reduce residual deformation, increase flame retardant, etc., the specific varieties of modified PC are :
1.PC/PET, PBT can improve drug resistance, solvent resistance and so on.
2.PC/acrylic with plexiglass can improve the appearance of pearlescent color.
3. PC/PA, HIPS can improve impact toughness, surface finish.
4.PC/HDPE can improve boiling water resistance, aging resistance, climate resistance, and LDPE effect is poor.
5.PCIABS can improve bending modulus, heat resistance, electroplating performance, etc.
6. PC reinforced with glass fiber dimension to improve mechanical strength.
7.Using flame retardant additive and antimony trioxide, flame retardant grade PC can be prepared.
