Product Description

PP GF50 is a highly engineered composite. It starts with Polypropylene, a versatile and low-cost commodity thermoplastic known for its good chemical resistance, fatigue resistance, and low density. However, unfilled PP has low strength and stiffness and a low heat deflection temperature.

By adding a massive 50% load of glass fibers, the material's mechanical properties are transformed. The glass fibers carry the load, resulting in:
Exceptional Stiffness and Strength
Greatly Improved Creep Resistance
Significantly Higher Heat Deflection Temperature
This creates a material that behaves more like a metal in terms of rigidity while retaining the processing and corrosion benefits of plastic.

Key Properties and Characteristics
1.Extremely High Stiffness & Strength: This is the primary reason for choosing PP GF50. Its flexural modulus and tensile strength are among the highest of all glass-reinforced polyolefins, making it suitable for replacing metal parts or supporting heavy loads.
2.Low Density & Light Weight: PP has one of the lowest densities of all plastics (~0.9 g/cm³). Even with 50% dense glass fiber, the composite remains lighter than many competing materials like PA66 (Nylon) or PBT with lower glass content. This is crucial for weight-saving applications.
3.Excellent Creep Resistance: It resists deformation over long periods under a constant load much better than unfilled or lower-reinforced plastics.
4.Good Chemical Resistance: It inherits excellent resistance to a wide range of acids, bases, and solvents from its PP base, making it suitable for corrosive environments.
5.High Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT): The high fiber content raises the HDT dramatically, often to ~155-165°C (311-329°F) at 1.82 MPa, allowing it to be used in high-temperature environments.
