Product Description

PA12 is a long-chain polyamide known for its extremely low moisture absorption, which gives it excellent dimensional stability even in humid conditions. It offers high impact toughness that remains strong down to -70°C, along with good abrasion resistance and a low coefficient of friction. It resists oils, fuels, and solvents well, has a melting point around 170-180°C, and is one of the lightest engineering plastics with a density of about 1.01 g/cm³. PA12 is easy to process via injection molding and extrusion, making it widely used in automotive fuel lines, cable sheathing, and pneumatic tubing.
1. Low Moisture Absorption
PA12 has the lowest moisture absorption among all nylons (~0.25% saturation), providing excellent dimensional stability and consistent mechanical properties even in humid environments.
2. High Impact Toughness
It retains outstanding impact strength even at low temperatures (down to -70°C), making it more flexible and impact-resistant than PA6 or PA66.
3. Chemical & Wear Resistance
PA12 offers excellent resistance to oils, fuels, greases, and solvents, along with good abrasion resistance and a low coefficient of friction for moving parts like gears and bearings.
4. Lightweight & Easy Processing
With a density of approximately 1.01-1.02 g/cm³, it is one of the lightest engineering plastics. It has a melting point of 170-180°C and is easy to process via injection molding and extrusion.
