Characteristics of PC + Fiberglass Materials

Modified PC refers to polycarbonate products that have been modified by filling, blending, and strengthening methods based on polycarbonate, resulting in improved properties such as flame retardancy, strength, impact resistance, and toughness.

The main performance defects of PC are insufficient hydrolysis stability, sensitivity to notches, resistance to organic chemicals, poor scratch resistance, and yellowing when exposed to ultraviolet light for a long time. PC, like other resins, is also susceptible to erosion by certain organic solvents. Polycarbonate has poor wear resistance, and some polycarbonate devices used for wear prone purposes require special surface treatment.

Modified PC is a plastic based on polycarbonate that has superior properties such as flame retardancy, impact resistance, high toughness, and ease of processing through processing modification.

The common types of fiberglass reinforced PC materials include PC+10% and PC+20%, with the former mainly used for phone frames; The latter is mainly used in mobile phone frames, tablets, and without steel inserts.
