What is PLA pellet ?
Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new type of bio-based and renewable biodegradable material made from starch derived from renewable plant resources (such as corn, cassava, etc.). Starch raw materials through saccharification to obtain glucose, and then from glucose and a certain strain fermentation to produce high purity lactic acid, and then through chemical synthesis method to synthesize a certain molecular weight of polylactic acid. It has good biodegradability, and can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature under specific conditions after use, and eventually generate carbon dioxide and water, which does not pollute the environment, which is very beneficial to the protection of the environment, and is recognized as an environmentally friendly material.
What are the distinction between PLA and PBAT ?
1. Different densities:
1. pbat:
The pbat density is between 1.18g/ml and 1.3g/ml.
2. pla:
pbat density is 1.25-1.28g/cm.

pla has good thermal stability, processing temperature 170 ~ 230ºC, has good solvent resistance, can be processed in a variety of ways, such as extrusion, spinning, biaxial stretching, injection blow molding. In addition to being biodegradable, products made from pla have good biocompatibility, gloss, transparency, feel and heat resistance.
What is the advantages and uses of PLA +PBAT compound granules ?
PBAT has excellent flexibility and can be used for film extrusion, blowing processing, extrusion coating and other molding processing. The purpose of blending PLA and PBAT is to improve the toughness, biodegradation and molding performance of PLA.PLA and PBAT blend can improve the toughness, biodegradation and molding processing performance of PLA, so the performance of the produced handbag, vest bag, flat pocket, etc., will be better than that of the single PLA production.
PLA/PBAT blends produce phase separation, which results in decreased tensile properties. However, different compatibility results appeared in different proportions of PLA/PBAT blends. Most studies show that the blend of PLA and PBAT is compatible when the addition amount of PBAT is low. However, when the content of PBAT is high, the blend has a phase structure. Therefore, if you want to get a better performance of PLA+PBAT degradable bag, you need to find the best proportion through multiple tests.

Extrusion molding of PLA raw material
The screw extrusion molding machine can be used to produce PLA sheet, film, fiber, pipe and foam sheet.
Before adding polylactic acid resin, ensure that the drying system and conveying system are clean. Due to the poor compatibility of polylactic acid resin with ordinary plastics and the processing temperature is much lower than that of PET.
When extruding on PET equipment, the processing temperature should be first raised to the PET processing temperature, and the low melting finger, non-thermal crosslinked polypropylene cleaning extruder is used to keep the temperature in a stable state. After a period of time, the temperature is adjusted to the processing temperature range of PLA.
PLA is easy to absorb tidal water, its equilibrium water content is higher than PET resin, and the hydrolysis rate is faster than PET. For sheet and film processing, the water content of PLA resin should be controlled below 0.05%.
